Inscryption Is Coming to Mobile — Leshy’s Cabin Fits in Your Pocket Now

You’re sitting across the table from something that shouldn’t be able to talk. Candlelight. A deck of cards dealt by hands that reach out of the dark. Somewhere behind you, a cabin door that was never going to open. Five years ago, Inscryption sat millions of us down at that table — and now it’s learning how to fit in your pocket.
Phone face-down for this one, fiends — actually, no. Pick it back up. You’re going to need it.
Daniel Mullins Games announced during its fifth-anniversary Twitch stream this weekend that Inscryption is coming to mobile. Creator Daniel Mullins himself appeared on the stream to share the news: the cursed card game that turned a candlelit cabin into gaming’s most unsettling table is headed for the smallest screen you own.
Quick Specs
- Title: Inscryption (mobile)
- Developer: Daniel Mullins Games
- Publisher: Devolver Digital
- Original release: October 19, 2021 (PC)
- Genre: Deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room puzzles, psychological horror
- Mobile release date: TBA — announced October 18, 2026
- Also on: PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox
If you’ve somehow dodged the cabin until now: Inscryption starts as a card battle against Leshy, a shadowed figure who deals you in and doesn’t much care whether you leave. Then it becomes an escape room. Then it becomes something else entirely, and then something else again — and saying more would be theft, because the turns are the game.
Full disclosure, up front, because that’s how we do things here: there is no release date, no price, and no platform list yet. This is an announcement, not a launch. The studio says the port will take “a little while” to get right, with more details coming in the months ahead — and their main focus right now is finishing Pony Island 2, due on Steam April 27, 2027.
One more card off the top: if you were hoping the mobile version would arrive with fresh DLC, deal yourself a different hand. The studio has confirmed no DLC is planned, calling Inscryption “a complete experience” and saying they won’t add content just to capitalize on its success. Honestly? Respect. The cabin is finished. They’re just building it a new door.
Trivia & Facts
- Inscryption launched on PC on October 19, 2021 — the mobile announcement landed almost exactly five years later, during the studio’s anniversary stream.
- It has since crept onto PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Mobile was the one screen it hadn’t haunted yet.
- Daniel Mullins also made Pony Island (2016) and The Hex — playing cards were never going to be the strangest thing he did to a video game.
- The Steam listing carries a Metascore of 85, which for a game about sacrificing squirrels to a forest god is practically a knighthood.
