You take the letter to the window and read it twice. Answers about your past. A substantial inheritance. All you have to do is go to Stillwater — a town that isn’t on your map, that nobody seems to have heard of, where nobody ages and nobody dies. You go anyway. Of course you go. That’s how these stories start.

Keep the porch light on, fiends. Prime Video just cast Maggie herself in a town with the worst check-out policy in horror.

The Facts

  • Lauren Cohan — Maggie Rhee of The Walking Dead — has joined Prime Video’s supernatural horror series Stillwater as a series regular, opposite lead Ben Hardy.
  • Mark O’Brien and Mia Tomlinson round out the new series-regular casting.
  • The series adapts the Skybound graphic novel by Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K. Pérez — 18 issues at Image Comics from 2020 to 2023.
  • Writers and executive producers: Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray; Zdarsky also executive produces. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions, and Skybound Entertainment; Amazon MGM Studios greenlit the series in July 2026.
  • The setup: Daniel West (Hardy), an ex-con, gets a mysterious letter promising answers about his past — and a substantial inheritance — in the town of Stillwater. He arrives to find a community where nobody ages or dies, and from which nobody ever leaves.

Why This One’s Worth Watching

Cohan spent over a decade surviving the apocalypse on The Walking Dead — she doesn’t flinch at horror, and horror knows it. Hardy went from Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse to The Conjuring: Last Rites this year, which means he walked out of the biggest horror franchise on the planet and straight into another one. That’s not a career move; that’s a calling.

And the town that nobody leaves is one of horror’s oldest traps for a reason. Stillwater isn’t selling jump scares — it’s selling the slow realization that immortality is a cage. Eight episodes, one season to get it right.

The Verdict

Full disclosure, up front, because that’s how we do things here: nothing’s filmed that we can judge — no footage, no poster, no premiere date. So no skulls on the table; the letter’s just been opened. But a Skybound horror comic, a Berlanti production, and Maggie Rhee walking into a town where nobody dies? Harper’s already packing a bag for Stillwater. One-way ticket, apparently — nobody ever leaves.

Trivia & Facts

  • The Stillwater graphic novel ran 18 issues at Skybound/Image Comics from 2020 to 2023.
  • Zdarsky is one of modern comics’ most decorated writers — and serves as an executive producer on the adaptation.
  • Skybound Entertainment is the company behind The Walking Dead franchise and Prime Video’s Invincible — so Cohan is, in a sense, coming home.
  • Berlanti and Wray said that once they saw Hardy in the role of Daniel West, they couldn’t imagine anyone else as him.
  • No premiere date has been announced yet — the eight-episode order was greenlit in July 2026.

Harper’s Extras

  • The Stillwater graphic novel (Skybound/Image) — 18 issues of the source material. Read it before the show spoils it for you.
  • The Walking Dead — Cohan’s apocalypse résumé. If you somehow missed it: fix that.
  • The Conjuring: Last Rites — Hardy’s most recent horror stop before Stillwater.

Where to Watch

Stillwater will stream on Prime Video — no premiere date yet. We’ll update this post when one drops.
