Split Rock production still — a terrified woman screams, hand pressed to her face

Shudder just stuffed your stocking with something sharp. The streamer has acquired US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand rights to Split Rock, Ryan Glover’s supernatural horror follow-up to his debut The Strings — and it’s unwrapping on Christmas Day, per Daily Dead’s reporting.

Shot on 16mm — because dread looks better on grain, obviously — the film debuts at Sitges before its North American premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival on October 21. Then, December 25, it crawls onto Shudder while you’re still digesting pie.

Why We’re Watching

Glover’s The Strings earned its cult stripes the hard way, and a 16mm-shot supernatural follow-up from the same hands is exactly the kind of slow-burn stocking stuffer this season needs. Details are still buried, but the pedigree is doing the talking.

Forget the yule log — this Christmas, the fire’s going out on its own. Who’s brave enough to press play on December 25th? Keep it locked on Think Horror.
