Picture it: midnight, your old Catholic school uniform itching at the collar, a dance-team initiation that went sideways an hour ago, and the girl next to you whispering something that hasn’t happened yet.

Say your prayers, horror fiends, and press play. The Body — Netflix’s new eight-episode teen-horror series from Quinn Shephard, the Emmy-nominated mind behind Under the Bridge — has a trailer, a premiere date, and Harper’s full attention.

Watch the Trailer

QUICK SPECS

  • Series: The Body (8 episodes)
  • Creator/showrunner: Quinn Shephard (Under the Bridge, Not Okay); executive producers include Riley Keough and Peter Chernin
  • Cast: Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, Geena Meszaros, Nnamdi Asomugha, Louisa Krause, Shirley Chen, Jackson Kelly, Sofia Wylie, Gabby Windey
  • Premiere: November 11, 2026 — all episodes, only on Netflix
  • The news: official trailer released October 12, 2026
  • Logline: after a dance-team initiation goes wrong, a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls develop prophetic visions — and mass hysteria takes the town

The trailer opens on the question haunting the whole town: what happened to Grace? From there it’s a whirlwind of dance routines, debauchery, and suspected demonic possession — set to eerie music that knows exactly what it’s doing. (Catholic horror and a dance team. Someone at Netflix has been reading Harper’s diary.)

Shephard calls it “gritty camp” — a raunchy teen psychodrama with a dash of Catholic horror — and her inspirations are a horror-hound’s grocery list: Carrie, Jennifer’s Body, Heavenly Creatures, Mean Girls, and The Crucible. Salem witch trials by way of slumber-party satanism. Yes, please.

And that tagline: “Blessed are the girls with something to hide.” Instant classic. Tattoo it.

The Verdict

Full disclosure, up front: trailer only — I haven’t seen a frame of the show itself, so this rating is strictly a hype rating, not a review. But Quinn Shephard doesn’t make boring television, and a Catholic-school horror series landing the week after Halloween? Chef’s kiss.

Four out of five skulls — Worth the scare. The hype, at least, is real.

Harper’s Extras

  • Shephard says the show is her most personal story — and her first television script, written in her early 20s.
  • Sofia Wylie (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) plays Grace Franklin — the girl the whole town is asking about.
  • The Traitors winner Gabby Windey plays Coach Miller. Reality TV to Catholic horror: a pipeline Harper fully respects.
  • Riley Keough executive produces, reuniting with Shephard after Under the Bridge.

Where to Watch

The Body premieres November 11, 2026, all eight episodes, exclusively on Netflix. Need a warm-up haunt while you wait? The Conjuring: Unspoken hits Netflix on October 13 — and it turns your phone into a ghost-hunting kit.
