Paramount Pictures will release A Quiet Place Part 3 in US theaters on July 30, 2027, three weeks later than its original July 9 date.

Premise and what we know

Paramount has kept the story secret. What is confirmed is where it sits. Part III continues directly from A Quiet Place Part II (2020). That film ended with Regan Abbott (Simmonds) and family friend Emmett (Murphy) broadcasting the feedback signal that disables the creatures from an island refuge, while her mother Evelyn (Blunt) and brother Marcus (Jupe) used the same sound to kill one on the mainland. Blunt said as early as 2021 that the films were planned as a trilogy, and Part III closes it.

New cast members hint at a wider world. Jack O’Connell plays a National Guardsman, and Alex Wolff returns as Reuben, the hospice nurse he played in the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One (2024). That casting links Part III to the spin-off, though how is not yet known. Roles for Katy O’Brian and Jason Clarke have not been announced.

Production and development

Krasinski announced the John Krasinski Quiet Place 3 project himself in August 2025, confirming that he would write, direct and produce. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions produce with Platinum Dunes, the team behind the earlier films. Krasinski had wanted to see how Part II was received before committing to a third film. Before Part III, the series added the Michael Sarnoski-directed Day One, set during the creatures’ arrival in New York City.

The cast was revealed in March 2026, and Wolff’s return was confirmed in May. Principal photography began on May 10, 2026, with Arnau Valls Colomer as cinematographer. In early June, Murphy, Simmonds, O’Connell and Clarke were reported to be shooting. Blunt had not started yet because of back-to-back press tours for The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Disclosure Day.

Cast

Krasinski played Lee Abbott, who died at the end of the first film. Whether he appears on screen in Part III has not been announced.

What to expect

The series is built on silence: creatures with no sight and acute hearing, and characters who survive by making no noise. Simmonds, who is deaf, plays Regan, and American Sign Language has been central to how the family communicates. Part II shifted the lead toward Regan and Emmett, and the final chapter is likely to continue with the next generation, though the studio has not said so. Expect the large-scale set pieces of Part II and Day One, with a story aimed at ending the Abbotts’ arc.

The franchise grossed more than $900 million worldwide over its first three films, Deadline reported, so Paramount is treating the finale as a summer tentpole.

Release and status

Paramount first dated the film for July 9, 2027. On October 2, 2025, it moved the release to July 30, 2027, which avoided a head-to-head opening with DC Studios’ Man of Tomorrow. No trailer, rating or runtime had been released as of October 10, 2026.
