Trash’s Revenge: Linnea Quigley’s Return of the Living Dead Sequel Wants Your Brains (and Your Backing)
It’s 2:47 in the morning. You’re at a horror convention, clutching a signed 8×10, when the woman who played the most iconic punk-rock zombie death of the ’80s leans in and whispers: “I’m making my own sequel.”
Fiends, it’s happening. Linnea Quigley — Trash herself from 1985’s The Return of the Living Dead — is writing, directing, and starring in Trash’s Revenge, a new entry in the ROTLD universe. And she wants you to help fund it.

DRagon Studios’ official teaser trailer:
Quick Specs

- Director/star: Linnea Quigley (yes, THAT Trash)
- Returning: Thom Matthews, Beverly Randolph, Miguel Nunez, John Philbin
- Funding: crowdfunding now live on CineBacker

Here’s the setup: decades after the 1985 classic, Trash is a faded star doing convention signings — Norma Desmond with a mohawk. A young filmmaker wants to make a documentary about her. That’s when the truth comes out: the events of the original film weren’t entirely fiction. Quigley confesses she still has three original canisters hidden in her basement. You know what those canisters mean. More brains.
Full disclosure, up front: this project’s road has been bumpier than a cemetery at midnight. There was a genuine rights brawl between Quigley’s ROTLD Originals crew and Living Dead Media (the folks behind the other new ROTLD film, Steve Wolsh’s Christmas-set sequel). The dust has settled enough for Quigley to launch a fresh crowdfunding campaign at the start of October — and that’s where you come in.
Now the spicy part: Quigley plans to bring back the late James Karen and Dan Calfa via CGI. Your horror host has feelings about digital resurrections, and so does the entire internet. Controversial? Absolutely. Catnip? You bet your last brain cell.
Harper’s take: nobody’s handing Linnea Quigley a studio budget, so she’s building this the punk-rock way — with the fans. Dan O’Bannon’s 1985 original was lightning in a Trioxin canister. If anyone can catch it again, it’s Trash herself.
The campaign is live on CineBacker now. Send a few bucks. Do it for Trash.
