Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party is The Last Drive-In’s final Halloween special, airing live tonight on Shudder with Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl.

The porch light is on, boils and ghouls. The candy bowl is by the door, and the man in the bolo tie is standing in the yard with two movies under his arm, grinning like he knows something you don’t. You could pretend you’re not home — but it’s the last Halloween he’ll ever knock, so you open the door.

One Last Knock on the Door

Eight years of Halloween specials come down to tonight. Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl host Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party live at 9 p.m. Eastern / 6 p.m. Pacific on Shudder (and on AMC+), a double feature whose two films stay secret until the reels roll — drive-in tradition, and no, we’re not guessing. Can’t make the live show? The special lands on demand Sunday, October 25.

Not a Wake

The Last Drive-In’s regular series signed off back in March, and Shudder kept Joe Bob and Darcy around for four specials across 2026. This is the third — and the final Halloween one. One more remains after it, a Christmas special on December 4, and then the drive-in goes dark. Joe Bob himself has told the mutants not to mourn it: “It’s not a wake, it’s a launch into 2027.”

One Party Left After This One

Tonight is not quite the end. The last farewell special, Joe Bob Conquers Christmas, airs live Friday, December 4 at 9 p.m. ET, then on demand Sunday, December 6 — two Christmas classics of the kind Shudder says “ruined” the holiday on release, plus the annual charity fundraiser. After that, the Shudder run is done — but with the 2027 launch Joe Bob keeps teasing, do not expect the cowboy hat to stay in the closet.

Full disclosure, up front: nobody here has seen tonight’s special — it has not aired yet, and Shudder is keeping both movie titles secret until showtime, which is exactly how a Joe Bob night is supposed to work. What we know is the when, the where, and the weight of it: the last Halloween this show will ever host.
