The fog doesn’t lift in Hope Harbor — it just learns your name. You can hear something moving out there past the tree line, something too big for the dark it’s hiding in. The village has been keeping secrets since before you were born, and tonight they’re done staying buried. You came for a monster movie. You’re about to get a reckoning.

Na Hong-jin’s monster epic Hope is now on Digital at home.

Hope premiered in competition for the Palme d’Or at Cannes 2026, then hit US theaters September 9, 2026 via NEON. Full disclosure, up front: early chatter named the wrong distributor — it’s NEON, not Mubi, and we’re setting the record straight.

The film earned about $47 million worldwide against a reported $46 million budget, and holds 79% on Rotten Tomatoes across 173 critics. The theatrical cut runs about 2 hours 26 minutes — leaner than the roughly 2-hour-40-minute Cannes cut.

Now it’s yours: on Digital since October 13, 2026, with Blu-ray preorders open. The home release packs a behind-the-scenes feature, a Na Hong-jin interview, his conversations with Bong Joon Ho and Kim Jee-woon, and Dolby Atmos. For more monster mayhem, our The Mummy (2026) review and Primate (2026) review are waiting.

Harper’s Extras

  • The decade-long wait: Hope is Na Hong-jin’s first feature since The Wailing. Ten years of anticipation, distilled into one monster epic.
  • The masterclass: the home release includes a Na Hong-jin interview plus conversations with Bong Joon Ho and Kim Jee-woon. That’s a film-school semester in one Digital purchase.

So lock your doors, keep the lights on, and remember: in Hope Harbor, the fog knows your name. Keep it locked on Think Horror.
