Rob Savage’s Molepeople Casts LaKeith Stanfield and Ben Mendelsohn — Horror Goes Underground
Blumhouse is going underground — literally. LaKeith Stanfield is replacing Anthony Ramos to star opposite Ben Mendelsohn in Molepeople, Rob Savage’s next horror feature, and ghouls, the tunnels beneath New York City just got a lot more interesting.
Stanfield broke the news himself on Friday, stepping onstage during Blumhouse Atomic Monster’s BlumFest panel at New York Comic Con. Per TheWrap’s reporting, the film follows a man who descends into the abandoned tunnels beneath NYC and discovers a twisted society living beneath the streets. And Savage himself teased it as subterranean horror in the vein of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. Subterranean chainsaw energy. We’re already sweating.
The Savage–Elston Reunion
Here’s the part that has us grinning: Nathan Elston — who co-wrote Savage’s Other Mommy, currently chewing up the box office — scripted this one too. Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Primal are co-producing and co-financing, with Paramount handling worldwide distribution.
